For me, shopping for bases is kind of like buying underwear: boring but necessary. I will happily buy ALL of the lipstick, nail polish, eye shadow but it’s not often that a new base will grab my attention. This attitude mostly stems from having skin that’s dehydrated, sometimes dry but nearly always a fetching shade of red making finding a base that covers all spectrums traumatic.
Laura Mercier have recently launched new variations of the infamous Silk Crème foundation and for once I sat up and took notice. Boasting many of the same attributes that made the original formula such a hit, the Silk Crème Moisturising Photo Edition does exactly what it says on the tin. The formula provides medium-to-full coverage with a natural finish and a healthy dose of moisture to boot. It’s like a souped up version of my favourite Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser.
So far, so good right? With a juicy looking complexion, I was worried longevity would be the downfall here and I was pleasantly surprised. Having blended in a small amount in the morning, I found that usual foundation-munching areas were still in tact hours later despite plenty of running around for work and enjoying the sunshine.
I haven’t had this in my possession for too long but I’ve worn it pretty much everyday since. I may have finally found the foundation of my dreams.
Have you tried the new Silk Crème formulas?
