SPF is an absolute essential and the Bioderma Photoderm Max Ultra-fluid SPF 50+ not only wins awards for the longest name ever, it’s also a pretty top notch everyday shield from the sun. As the name would suggest, the formula is incredibly light and sinks in quickly making it a good choice for wearing under makeup. For days where I won’t be in the sun that much, one application does the trick but it can be applied as the day goes on and works just as well. Definitely one to check out if you’re extremely pale like me.
I dedicated a whole post to the Stila Eyes Are The Window Soul palette so I’ll keep this one short and sweet but our love affair shows no sign of slowing down. Containing the best of the best in warm tone bronzes, browns and neutrals, the palette is perfect for day and night. My standout shade Kitten which is the best shimmery-champagne shade of ALL TIME and well deserves a Kanye moment.
By now the world knows just how awesome the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray really is and I’m a little late here but dang, this stuff is dreamy. I’ve been trying to air-dry my hair as much a possible lately and with a few spritzes through my lengths just adds that beachy, gritty texture I desire to my naturally soft lock with minimal effort. Styling without heat has never been easier.
If you follow me on instagram (if not, why not?), you’ll have seen that I went to see the gorgeous Taylor Swift at Hyde Park last weekend. In honour of the occasion, a red lip was necessary. I went in with a oldie but a goodie, the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square. A red with those summery orange tones that keeps things casual and a matte finish that was hanging on despite scoffing down a grilled cheese sandwich. If you’re hitting up any festivals, I’d strongly recommend checking out these lip pencils and someone please remind me to never forget about this shade again.
An old summer staple that’s made an appearance lately is the Dr Jart Water Fuse BB Cream. It’s a gem. It hasn’t got the best coverage (normal with BB creams) but paired with my beloved Clarins Instant Concealer, I’d concocted the perfect summer base that didn’t melt off within seconds. It’s super glowy (note: kind of shiny) but with a bit of powder, it was a stay all day affair.
With smoky eyes and bright lips being my makeup looks of choice this summer, blush has been taking a back seat. All except for the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed. It doesn’t look like much in the pan but when I found my face is lacking a bit of summin summin, the warmish neutral shade defines and adds a hint of colour without ever looking too obvious.
With it being firmly sandal weather, a good pedicure is a must. My toe shade of choice this month has been Maybelline Superstay Forever Strong Nail Polish in Hot Salsa. It lasts forever without chipping and is that perfect not-quite-neon shade that looks amazing all summer long. I take great pleasure out of seeing my coral tinged toes peeping out from my Birkenstocks. It’s the little things in life.
What have been your beauty staples this June?
