The original mint comes in the form of Essie’s Mint Candy Apple. Everyone and their mums seems to own this polish and for a good reason. The colour applies streak-free and is opaque in a couple of coats so candy-hued nails are never too far away.
I’d go as far to say that Nails Inc Baker Street is one of my favourite polishes ever. It’s the brightest, colbalt blue that looks phenomenal regardless of your skin tone. The only downside is with the older Nails Inc bottles is that it doesn’t have one handy wide brushes but it’s worth the extra effort for a mani this pretty.
I remember hunting high and low in America for Essie Sunday Funday, only to find it in my local Boots when I got home. You may think it’s just another coral polish but it’s unique in the way it has slight silver flecks running through giving the colour a bit more dimension. They ended up adding this shade to the permanent line I believe so it’s one to check out.
No other Turquoise holds a candle to Bourjois’ 1 Seconde Nail Polish in Turquoise Bloc. The formula is insane and literally opaque in one coat though I usually opt for too and it’s so shiny that it rivals a gel manicure without the traumatic removal. As you can see, the colour is gorgeous and just so bright and summery and it’s been a holiday staple for the last few years and my pick for toes for weeks now.
Have I mentioned any Essie polishes yet? They’re pretty good y’know. One of my newest additions comes in the form of Go Ginza. It’s the pinkier sister to Lilacism (also a fave of mine) that looks good enough to eat. It’s another two coater, comes with the amazing brush along with the others from Essie’s diffusion line and adds a slightly girlier tough to my usual grungy style.
