When it comes naming a favourite beauty brand, I’d have to say Charlotte Tilbury is a strong contender. Charlotte is such an inspiration of mine. She always looks flawless and creates the ultimate smoky eye mere mortals could only dream of! I haven’t been able try a whole bunch but the items I have tried are seriously kickass. Whenever I’m in Selfridges, I can’t resist a good ol’ swatch-a-thon so I was thrilled to receive one of the Filmstars On The Go Palettes for Christmas.
The palette itself is beautiful. It’s sleek; it’s slim and has a good-sized mirror making it perfect for touchups. Rebel Without a Cause combines a golden metallic cream shadow bordering on the rosy side and a complimentary bright pink lip/cheek cream. Oh yes, this is the most aesthetically pleasing of palettes.
The cream formulas themselves are pretty awesome. They can be applied with a brush or fingers but I find the latter works best. The eye colour is an almost grungy gold, that paired with dark liner is quite Olsen-esque and that’s a definite bonus. A little smudge works for a sheer wash of colour but it is really buildable, sets in place quickly and provided you use a good eye primer, doesn’t budge.
The lip and cheek cream is equally as impressive. I find products with dual uses such as this one tend to be either too slippery for use on the cheeks or too stiff to use as lip colour but this palette has achieved the perfect balance. The colour is stunning and leaves the healthiest glow on cheeks and is just as flattering on the lips.
It isn’t exactly a snip at £42 but you are effectively getting three products so girl maths will balance this one out. There are five shade combinations in total and something for all skin tones so make sure you check these out!
