If there’s one wardrobe item that I have a weakness for, it’s shoes. Thought I favour the ankle boot or trainer variety, I just want them all. They’re one area that I don’t object to spending money on after all, shoes won’t just suddenly not fit when you’ve had one too many mince pies over the Christmas period. So as I was carrying out my daily snoop on ASOS, I got a little bit excited at the pure volume of amazing shoes they’re currently stocking and pulled together a list of #SHOEPORN for us all to revel in.
If you need to know one thing about me, it’s that me and heels do not get on. No matter the height or if they’re platformed, I will inevitably fall on my face but when I spied these Daisy Street Burgundy Court shoes, I was in love. A low, chunky heel for minimal time spent facedown on the pavement – check. Seasonally appropriate – check. The ability to dress up even the scruffiest of outfits – check.
I first saw the tortoiseshell version of these ASOS ankle boots in Lizzy’s testing basics video and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them since. They were sold out in my size (sobs) but luckily my prayers were answered by the shoe gods with this all-black version. I love the grungy, badass vibe they bring and I may now already have these in my possession. I wasn’t letting them slip away again!
There’s a serious case of Loafer loving on Instagram and Pinterest at the moment and while some Gucci beauties aren’t exactly in my price range right now, ASOS have got it covered with these babies. Loafers are so versatile and I’m sure they’ll be the perfect shoes for the transition into spring once I’ve prized my ankle boots of my feet for the year.
Definitely the most out-there pick are these wondrous Daisy Street Lightening Bolt booties. My dress sense is very minimal with lots of black and grey so I feel that a real statement boot could be just the thing to jazz up my wardrobe when I’m in a bit of a slump. I love the Aladdin Sane vibes they give me.
Now back to regular programming as flat ankle boots are an absolute staple in my wardrobe. I have had approximately 1654 black pairs over the years but I love the Oxblood shade of this ASOS pair and the almost vintage feel they have about them. With a bit of wearing in, no one would have to know you bought them online!
Speaking of vintage, these Mary-Janes with a tortoiseshell heel are incredible. I love the ankle strap detail and the patent finish gives them a modern twist. They’re very, very different to anything else I own but I’m seriously considering popping these in my next order.
I said I loved trainers and Adidas styles are by far my favourites. I have Superstars and Gazelles but Stan Smiths are next on my list. A blogger favourite for sure but you can’t go wrong with some Stan’s on.
I always remember being gutted that my mum wouldn’t buy me kickers for school so maybe my love for these Monki versions stems from some deep, unresolved issue. Whether that’s the case or not, I think these are the coolest.
I had a pair of bright pink Dr Marten’s years ago and needless to say I grew out of the style very quickly as they didn’t really lend themselves my mostly monochrome wardrobe. I really love these low style versions and think they lend themselves to any wardrobe.
I’ve also been on the hunt for some good over-the-knee boots. I had an ALDO pair but they cause me so much pain that they’re in a pile ready to go off to another home. In an ideal world, a Stuart Weitzmann pair would be my style of choice but money. This pair from Public Desire have a slight heel to keep them leg-flattering and are on the shortlist for me to try out.
