Despite having an unseasonably warm winter so far, my skin is up to it’s usual tricks. A combination of wind, rain and central heating has left my skin looking dry and dull. To combat the general blah-ness going on, I’ve up my skincare game to include all things hydrating.
My first step is always a good gentle cleanser and I’m obsessed with the Superfacialist By Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Calming Creamy Cleanser. This budget buy is nothing short of a miracle worker when it comes to cleansing skin without stripping or dehydrating in any way.
The Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum is an all-year round essential in my routine but in winter, it truly comes into it’s own. Nothing works more effectively to lock in moisture and alongside a good moisturiser, my skin just feels so soft.
A new addition to the line-up is the Rosy Cheeks mask from Lush. Redness is an issue I have all the time but it’s especially an issue in winter. This mask aims to calm and soothe red and irritated skin. I’m still getting to grips with it but all good so far.
No skincare lineup would be complete without a bit of OSKIA and their Bedtime Beauty Boost does not disappoint. The super luxe cream is packed full of oils to make even the dullest skin happy by the morning.
To exfoliate all of the crap away, I’ve been loving the Nip + Fab Glycolic Daily Cleansing Pads. I usually take one pad in the evening and sweep it across my face paying particular attention to the areas with the driest skin so for me, around my eyebrows and around my nose.
When the dry patches start to take over, First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream is my go to. Despite being able to tackle even the driest of skin, it isn’t thick or difficult to apply. It just smoothes on and heals the skin.
Guerlain’s Super Aqua Day Cream is another new addition to the routine and a pricey one at that. This luxury moisturiser provides hydration in abundance and leaves skin feeling so soft and ready for the day ahead.
Another bedtime treat is the MV Organics Rose Plus Booster. This clever little oil is filled with goodness to relieve dry, dehydrated skin as well as breakouts. I love to use this on no makeup days to give my skin a super boost.
